1 out of 5 stars Quality control a dirty word?   October 28, 2006
This is the second cheap cassette player I've bought. I had one of this model type from Sony that worked probably 3 to 5 years. Bought this one but it was DOA (dead on arrival). Sony where has the quality control gone? You used to be able to get a $25 dictation cassette recorder that worked but this and the other one that I bought were both broken, things turned but no recording, guess I'll try a more expensive one next time.

4 out of 5 stars Pros and Cons   October 1, 2006

Pros:
many great details, really thinks about the customer, good quality (lasts a long time)

Con(s):
Sony should include tape recorders and blank tapes(together) for a bargain price as apposed to selling each separately making it convenient for the customer(very important)and cost efficient. I noticed other amazon products were put into this form which made ME personally buy them so why not this product and why not other consumers?

1 out of 5 stars Works well but................   September 22, 2006

I am quite disappointed with this sony product. It works well but the big drawback is that you hear the motor rumble in your recordings. I wonder if other buyers have this problem or did I get a poor model? Buy cheap and get cheap I should know better.

5 out of 5 stars Great recorder   June 29, 2006

This is a terrific tape recorder.

I've always found that bells and whistles like voice activation don't work. This one does. You want it on, you turn it on. You want it off, you turn it off. It's recording quality is very good for this medium. We're not talking digital sound, of course, but no magnetic tape machine will deliver that quality.

I've used probably a dozen recorders over many years, and this one is one of the best values out there.
