Terrific recorder, misleading product title November 6, 2006 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Wouldn't you think a product whose title reads "with Dual Power Source" would actually include the AC adapter? Not in this case, although I can order one separately.
If you in fact want the AC adapter to arrive in the same package as your cassette recorder, be sure you order the Sony TCM-210DV, which I now understand is the model I should have ordered. The TCM-210DV appears to be identical to the TCM-200DV but includes the AC adapter.
Although I don't have the AC adapter I wanted as insurance for the occasions on which I record on tape, the recorder performs just fine on battery. I use it primarily to play audiobooks from the public library, because a Walkman or other play-only motor is not powerful enough for old, worn cassettes.

Nice player at a fair and reasonable price. I reommend this unit.
Recorder for "An electronics fan" August 11, 2006 4 out of 10 found this review helpful
Not rating sony recorder, but... A reviewer named "An electronics fan" described his perfect recorder. What he described was the Olympus Pearlcorder S713, which I've had for about 10 years now. It has red LED to signal recording, a 3-digit tape counter, jacks for external headphone and microphone, auto stops at end of tape. Also has dual recording speeds and voice activated recording. I don't notice any tape noise while using internal microphone. The only caveat is that it's a microcassette. But still, the sound quality is even good for singing (in my opinion), but I'm still looking for standard size cassette tape recorder, assuming fidelity would be better.
you get what you buy March 21, 2006 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
the quickest way to evaluate this TCM-200Dv is-- Read the manual the recorder does everything it says it can do with no problems
Quick service, wonderful product March 11, 2006 7 out of 14 found this review helpful
I was amazed at your prompt service. The product in conjunction with the price is superb. I returned an inferior model to my University (FIU) when I saw a superior model (2 rec. speed, etc) at a cheaper price. I am grateful for your efficiency Roberto Montoya
