Product Description AudioSource designs, manufactures, and sells a full line of home theater products including audio components, in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, and complete home theater surround sound speaker systems. AudioSource continues to maintain its commitment to provide the products that people need to complete their home theater systems. AudioSource constantly monitors the market and the latest trends, so that it can deliver the latest technology to the home theater enthusiast at a reasonable price in an easy-to-use format.
Amazon.com Product Description Both powerful and versatile, the AudioSource Amp 300 high-current stereo power amplifier offers 150 watts RMS per channel x 2 or, in bridged mono mode, up to an amazing 470 watts x 1 (into 8-ohm speakers in both cases). Now you can scale your listening to match your budget: use either 1 amplifier or 2 for stereo sound or 5 or more in concert for full-blown home-theater excitement--perfect for your DVDs, multichannel DTV broadcasts, or high-resolution audio formats like DVD-Audio and SACD. Keep in mind that this is an amplifier only, with no volume control or onboard surround processing (though it does offer independent adjustable output controls for each channel). It's designed for use with a stereo preamplifier or a surround receiver offering preamplifier outputs. Making the move from 5.1- to 6.1- or 7.1-channel surround sound? If your receiver has preamp outputs for all channels, there's no need to replace your 5.1 surround receiver. Just feed the additional center or surround signals to a strategically positioned Amp 300. Connections consist of a choice of RCA (line-level) or clip-type (speaker-level) inputs and banana-plug-friendly binding-post speaker terminals for outputs. There's also set of stereo (left/right) RCA passthrough jacks for use in a daisy-chain setup. The amp works with 12-volt power-on/-off circuitry and also features a signal-sensing circuit for automatic power-on/-off, making it as ideal for custom installers as for end users. Its A and B speaker outputs let you power speakers in your main room, a second room, or both rooms simultaneously. The amplifier's toroidal power supply keeps distortion extremely low (less than 0.04 percent).

Great value - we'll see about the reliability August 31, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very solidly built amplifier that can be used in stereo or bridged mode.
Offers speaker-level inputs in addition to the usual line-level.
Sounds good to me and others have commended Audiosource for their nice bang-for-the-buck value.
I bought this on sale for $129.99. As you can see from other reviews, these have gotten some poor reviews for reliability. I decided to buy a 5-yr replacement warranty for $20. With tax, the whole package was $160 for a powerful versatile amp that sounds good and I have 5-yr peace-of-mind.
Would recommend this amp for those on a budget - I believe it would enhance the sound of anything with a mid-to-lower end receiver who wants more driving power for their speakers.
AudioSource Amp 300 Performs Perfectly!! July 29, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I realize that different people will always have different opinions about products. Especially when it comes to audio equipment.
I have owned AudioSource products in the distant past. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Amp 300... but, I found it on sale at Fry's for $149 and couldn't pass it up. I bought two of them. Originally, my intent was to keep one and sell one... but, I ended up using both. In fact, I completely gutted my entertainment system... adding the two AudioSource amps along with a Kenwood Amp and Preamp, in addition to a Yamaha Sound Processor. As you can imagine... the result was spectacular!! The sound pressure levels that are possible are just incredible. The clarity... the tone quality... it's exactly what you want. I found the quality of manufacture to be flawless. Maybe the first one's off the production line has issues... all I can say is that I'm very happy with the equipment and will be looking forward to years of enjoyment.
Professional equipement for Professional People June 21, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This equipement is very professional. If anyone handles it carelessly, it will not work anymore. The speaker cable should never never be short. You will kill any Power Amp by shorting the speaker cable. The Amp is so powerful output. You can picture it if the cable is short !!
No problems and sounds great ! January 20, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow! sorry to hear about the problems other people have had with this amp. I have had mine for 3 years I use it bridged as a 500 watt mono block sub woofer amp. It sounds great and powers my Sub no problem. Any amp comparable to this would cost at least 3x this.
I do keep it well ventilated (nothing on it or next to it)and power it off with a power strip when not in use.
DOA November 6, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was hesitant on purchasing this Amp300 after all the bad reviews but I have an Amp 100 that I have liked for 1yr now with no problems. After opening the Amp300 and hooking it up, no sound - DOA. I tried multiple inputs and phone call with Audio Source. It seems to me that Audio Source does not have any quality control and does not check their items before sending them out. Not good. I am returning this unit for a refund and will not try another Amp300 after this experience and considering all the other bad reviews. Seems there are a lot of bad units. Weird thing is Audio Source told me they fixed the problems with Amp300 before I purchased. I beg to differ.
