Amazon.com Product Description
Sherwood's incredibly affordable RX-4105 offers integrated preamplification and amplification, inputs for numerous audio source components, and advanced radio tuning and station access. The receiver delivers 100 watts RMS per channel x 2 for strong, clear sound across the audible spectrum--even at low listening levels. The company has lowered the amplifier's distortion relative to the previous model (the RX-4105), to less than 0.08 percent, while also giving the receiver a new layout borrowed from its higher-end components.

The RX-4105 uses totally discrete amplifiers for all channels (TDAS) to maintain its high power and low distortion. Use the receiver's A and B clip-type speaker outputs to power 2 different rooms, or to biwire a pair of speakers for more efficient amplification (with A outputs driving the woofers, for instance, and the B outputs driving the tweeters--make sure your speakers are compatible if this is a key feature for you).

The receiver also offers a handy 25-key remote control and switching for 2 pair of loudspeakers. Audio inputs switch between and amplify up to 4 additional components, including 2 requiring both inputs and outputs (such as a cassette deck and a VCR). The built-in AM/FM tuner features 30 station presets and auto station setup.

Other features include bass and treble tone controls, a dimmable fluorescent display, and a .25-inch headphone jack for private listening.

What's in the Box
Sherwood RX-4105 receiver, remote control, AC power supply cord, FM indoor antenna, AM loop antenna set, and owner's manual.

1 out of 5 stars JUNK !   November 17, 2008
Don't be Dont be deceived by the good looks of this receiver and the Sherwood name. These are garbage, and not even worth their $89.00 price. I know of 2 other poeple that have purchased these, and have had the same experience with them that I have. The audio quality is worse than any receiver I have ever heard. Comparable with a boom box in quality. There is also no way that these put out anything close to 105 watts per channel. Not even close.
Save your money, and spend $150-$200 for a decent 100 watt receiver. Common sense dictates that you aren't going to get much for $89.00,and this Sherwood receiver proves it. A pretty $89.00 box with bad sound....

3 out of 5 stars Solid Low End Stereo Unit   September 22, 2008

If you are looking for a solid low end stereo unit than this is just fine. It is not full of useless features. The AM/FM section works well and it has plenty of pre-sets (to fill). I would not suggest pushing this amplifer toward the 100W rating because it does not any large heat sinks to provide for cooling. It does have (stereo)inputs for TV/VCR, CD, a tape player/recorder. It also has a full feature remote but I find it awkward to use. The buttons on it get stuck if you are not careful about pressing them. Once they get stuck the unit seems to have a mind of it's own (till un-stuck). As long as your looking for just a minimum stereo reciever then you will not be disapointed.

Read others' complaints, but don't have any of my own.
Working like a charm. OB.

4 out of 5 stars Good receiver for a great price!   July 30, 2008

If you're looking for a basic two-channel receiver to listen to the radio, CD's, cassettes, and to hook up your television to, this is it! This unit provides plenty of clarity and power at all volume levels. Cranked it up half-way and it was plenty loud! Remote control is simple and easy to use. One drawback, though. It does not have phono inputs for a turntable. Other than that, it more than meets my needs!

1 out of 5 stars Got 2 both bad   April 29, 2008

I bought it to replace a unit that I have had since 1970 and it started to go bad. The first one would pick up no FM and very weak AM. Yes antennas
were connected, Amazon sent another (great service) it worked the same way.
Returned it gave up on them.
